One of the many perks of living in NC is that you get to be part of ACC basketball. Basketball is a BIG thing around here. I mean it has to be when you have one of the biggest rivalries, UNC vs. Duke, in college basketball just up the road from where you live. Lucky for Andrew he has been able to attend three huge basketball games in the past two weeks.
Game 1: NC State vs. University of North Carolina
Luckily, being a graduate student at NC State he got a ticket to the game. A week before this game NC State had beat undeafted #2 Duke so everyone was ready for us to take down UNC as well. Unfortunately, the Wolfpack just could not pull it out in the end. Andrew said it was a great game though. He also gets a kick that the only part to the NC State fight song that people know is "Go to Heck Carolina"!
Game 2: Duke vs. Pitt
Our cousin, Travis, who goes to UNC has a friend who is going to Duke. He called Andrew up and asked if he wanted to go to a Duke basketball game. Going to a game at Cameron Indoor Stadium has been on Andrew's bucket list for awhile now. It was a pretty crazy experience and WAY different than what Andrew thought it would be like. They pack you in like a can of sardines and you have to stand the ENTIRE time. You can't even sit down during halftime and time outs. One downside is that they don't play the game at all on the jumbo tron so you can't even look up to watch the game. Andrew didn't seem to care though even though he came home with a cold and sore body he had a blast and wouldn't change it for anything. He couldn't stop talking about it and how it got to experience a once in a lifetime sports moment and be a Cameron Crazy for one night. It was a bonus that they won because it became Coach K's 999 win in his career.
This is where students live ALL semester just to get front row seats. Andrew said it was interesting walking around it.
Game 3: University of North Carolina vs. Syracuse
To finish off the week he went to the UNC vs. Syracuse game with our cousin Travis. Andrew had fun and said it felt a lot like the Marriott Center. He also loved watching two of the most all time winningest coaches play/coach against each other ( Jim Boeheim and Roy Williams). Big thank you to Travis for coordinating and letting Andrew tag along.

Caitlyn's Birthday!
As usual Andrew, friends, and family made my birthday awesome. It was such a fun day celebrating with just the two of us. We realized this would be the last birthday celebration without having to get a baby sitter. We took advantage of that and went out to dinner. :) I was totally shocked with my presents once again. Andrew is so good at making me think I'm getting one thing and then gives me something completely different but even better. I've been looking at sewing machines for awhile now but would never buy it because I wanted to wait until we moved somewhere. Also, I had been looking around at different diaper bags but once again never could decide. Andrew was sneaky and did some research to see what I had been looking at and bought the diaper bag that I had actually really wanted. Basically what I'm trying to say is Andrew is REALLY good at birthdays and surprises.
As part of my birthday gift we had to make a trip to the fabric store and I had to buy fabric to make a project. Of course I made an easy blanket for our little girl!
I had been telling Andrew how much I missed Samoa Cupcakes from Sweet Tooth Fairy. This lead him to searching the internet to try and find Samoa cupcakes. He found a place in Michigan and picked some other fun flavors as well. Just so you know these are THE BEST CUPCAKES I've ever had. I was worried they wouldn't taste good because they had been mailed but they tasted like I had just taken them out of my oven and they even lasted for a whole week. I'm considering moving to Michigan so I can have these everyday....but really! Andrew had to make sure I didn't eat more than one a day. Baby girl and I may have cheated on this rule one day. ;) The place is called Cupcake Station.
