A few days after Andrew's graduation we headed to North Carolina to apartment hunt. It was quite the adventure on the plane. It took forever to board and then once we got on they said that everything had to go in the overhead compartments because we were carrying extra fuel. Why were we caring extra fuel you might ask?? Well it was due to all the tornados in the midwest so we had to head way North to miss them. I don't think we missed them too much because we had a good amount of turbulence and lighting all around us the entire trip. Once we got to North Carolina we were 45 minutes delayed and it was late. We finally got our car and headed to Andrew's cousins house in Chapel Hill. We're so grateful that they let us crash at their house for a few days. We were treated so well with wonderful meals and of course root beer floats. (Travis and Andrew discovered ice crystals....you'll have to ask them when you see them) Also, in true Andrew fashion of coming to North Carolina there was bad weather. Not just rain but tornado warnings. Our second night there we woke up at 4:50 to a text on my phone saying take shelter immediately due to a tornado in our area. Then we heard the sirens go off! We turned the TV on and sure enough it said that a tornado would hit Chapel Hill at 5:15. So we watched for about five more minutes before we were going to take shelter. In those five minutes the stormed switched directions and we were good to go. Andrew can now say that each time he has come to North Carolina he has had extreme weather....Winter Storm and Tornado.
This was just a quick trip to decide where we were going to live. The plan was to look at all the apartments the first day and then sign a contract the next day. After seven appointments we finally made our decision. It is called Colonial Grand at Trinity Commons. We just really liked the feeling that we had at this apartment over any other apartment and of course this was the most expensive one. We turned down a place that was giving us a HUGE deal but we just didn't feel the Spirit directing us to live there like were at Colonial Grand. So we went in the next day and signed our contract! They even let us walk through our apartment because it was empty at the time.
I'll post pictures once we get all moved in and settle! Feel free to come visit us!!

Fun Date Night
This past Friday we went on a fun date night with Cam & Rebecca and Rebecca's sister and her husband Katie & Jackson. Rebecca had free tickets to a preview night at the new children's museum at Thanksgiving Point. We were not quite sure what to expect but once we got there we were blown away. Even though the museum is for little kids we had a BLAST! I would recommend going to this museum if you are ever around Thanksgiving Point. It is worth the money and it is for all ages. We had such a fun night being little kids again.

Post Graduation Party
After Andrew's graduation we headed to Alpine with our nieces to ride the ponies. The girls were so patient as Andrew, Tyler, and Seth were getting the ponies ready and fixing up the wagon. Once they were on the ponies and riding you could see it on their faces that the wait was worth it. Andrew was so sweet helping the girls on the ponies. He will be a great dad someday! :)
Andrew's BYU Graduation
Andrew graduated on April 25th!! His graduation was the first of the day so we had to get there early. Luckily, Cam walked with Andrew so we wouldn't have to go to two graduations that day. The graduation was actually pretty nice until they started reading the names and then it took FOREVER! It also didn't help that Andrew & Cam were the last row of graduates. The one nice thing of being at the end was once they walked across the stage the graduation was over. After graduation, we headed out to take some pictures and then went to Kneaders for Brunch.
I had been secretly working with Andrew's mom on making a T-shirt quilt for Andrew out of all of his BYU shirts. It turned out even better than I imagined and I learned to have fun while sewing; unlike my high school sewing classes which terrified me. Andrew was in total shock and I was impressed that, for once in our marriage, I didn't spill the beans on a surprise for him. Normally, I just can't take it and I ALWAYS tell him.
Overall, it was such a fun day just celebrating Andrew and all of his hard work. I'm so proud of him and I know first hand all that he has gone through and worked through to get that degree. I'm so grateful for all that he does for our future and our family. I'm so lucky I'm married to such a smart, hardworking, and of course handsome man!
Even though our time at BYU has come to an end we will always be BYU Cougars and cheer for them no matter what. We're excited for another graduation which is just around the corner.... 1 year to be exact. This time instead of being surrounded by BYU Blue it will be NC State Red. We now get to cheer for two teams!

Dinner with the Thompsons
A few weeks ago we had the chance to go out to dinner with Andrew's mission president and his wife as well as our good friends the Irions. We have been trying to do this ever since we got married so we're glad we finally got around to it right before we head across the country. It was such a fun night of talking about their mission, life, and the gospel. We're so glad we have such good examples in our life!
