July 2016 Part 2

After the funeral I headed up to Logan! 

 Ellie loved playing with her cousins. These are the three musketeers!

 Being a mom has definitely changed my role as Aunt Caitlyn but I'm excited that they still like to play with me.

 Ellie got sick for the first time on this trip! I'm super grateful for our family friend who is a  pediatricians who let us come into his office during his busy schedule. I knew Ellie was really sick when she wanted to snuggle with me.

 We celebrated Kaylee's birthday! 

 My dad bought a side by side so we took many trips at night around the neighborhood!

The highlight of this trip is that Ellie learned to walk! Cousin peer pressure is a wonderful thing!

July 2016 Part 1

 I flew out to Utah on the 4th of July so I could make it in time for my Grandpa Nelson's funeral. My flight to Utah was very interesting. Most of the time when I fly by myself I end up in the same row as unaccompanied minors and most of the time they are teenagers around 14. This time I sat next to Lily who was six. She was flying to Salt Lake to visit her dad who lives in Boise. Let's just say I got to be a parent of two kids for about 5 hours. She was a really sweet girl but NOT shy at all. She was into all of Ellie's things the second I pulled them out. I had to have a lot of back up plans of how to entertain Ellie while Lily played with all her things. The flight attendant was really appreciative that I kept Lily entertained the whole time so I got a lot of free food and whatever I wanted the whole flight which was a bonus.

 Ellie had a rough time at the funeral. She hand't had a nap for two days in a row.

 We headed to the farm for a few days! Ellie had a blast hanging out with her cousins and even had her first pony ride. I didn't even have to hold onto her.

End of June 2016

We sure missed Ellie while we were gone and were excited to get back.

 Our YW read the entire Book of Mormon in 2 days. I helped out here and there.

 Ellie is discovering a lot of new things!

 Steven came to visit us on his way to Utah for Summer break. We were glad we got to see him about a week after we left Brazil.

June 2016- Brazil Part 4

When we got back to Salvador we were welcomed by Lauren and Todd. They had flown in that morning. We were excited that our trip was going to over lap for a few days. It was fun exploring the city with them.

Andrew's dad fell asleep while we were all shopping! Also, Andrew can smell a Nike store a mile away.

 This is where they will play one of the Olympic Soccer games. Also, the big Salvador sign is where the Olympic torch passed through.

 All ready for the ward San Juan Party with our Haviannas! It was a fun night of dancing and lots of Brazilians trying to teach us how to dance without laughing.

 We walked around a free zoo. Andrew found the cougar next to the Puma that kept growling at us as we walked by.

 The boy's went and played basketball with some of the missionaries.

 I was cold at the airport so I wanted some hot chocolate. I thought my Portuguese was good enough to order it....but I was wrong. They had to bring someone over who spoke English. They also couldn't pronounce or say my name. It made us feel better as we were sad that we were leaving Brazil.
