Weekend in St. George/Vegas

Two weekends ago we headed down to St. George/Vegas with our friends Russ and Ellen. It was the perfect weekend to go because the WCC tournament that BYU plays in was that weekend. Andrew has always wanted to go the tournament and every year it just does not work out. So this year we decided to just go for it and have some fun!

We went down on Thursday night so we could have more time in St. George to just relax. We woke up Friday morning and headed out on a bike ride. I remember this bike ride being super easy from when we used to come do it over Spring Break when I was in high school. I forgot that I was WAY more in shape back then!! It was a lot harder than I remember it being but it has motivated me to start getting active again! :) So we biked about 8-9 miles from the house to Tuachan. We came home and had some great homemade pizza by Russ and then watched Hunger Games 2 and Gravity. The whole day we just kept saying how awesome everything was from the weather, to the food, and the memories we were making. The Lego Movie theme song became the motto of our trip..."Everything, is AWESOME." If you haven't heard it, head to youtube and it will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day.

Saturday was the day of the game and we headed to Vegas. This was only my second time in Vegas and I remembered why it is not my most favorite place to visit. Luckily the arena that they played in was really nice after you had to walk through the crazy smoke filled maze of the casino. We got there early so we could watch the game before BYU. I'm so HAPPY that BYU won because it made the trip that much better. After the game we headed straight back for St. George for dinner and to watch Ender's Game.

We're so glad that we got to spend some time with our friends before we leave for North Carolina. The weekend was great and "Everything was AWESOME!"

Visit with Grandma Bangerter

Last week we got to visit Grandma Bangerter for Andrew's parents because they were out of town. Seth and Jay came along with us and we had a good time. We talked about her day, her book, and also her testimony in Portuguese. It was fun to watch her talk about her life and share her experiences. She has had some pretty incredible things happen in her life and she is a great example to follow.

Happy 90th Grandma Bangerter!
