Apartment Hunting

A few days after Andrew's graduation we headed to North Carolina to apartment hunt. It was quite the adventure on the plane. It took forever to board and then once we got on they said that everything had to go in the overhead compartments because we were carrying extra fuel. Why were we caring extra fuel you might ask?? Well it was due to all the tornados in the midwest so we had to head way North to miss them. I don't think we missed them too much because we had a good amount of turbulence and lighting all around us the entire trip. Once we got to North Carolina we were 45 minutes delayed and it was late. We finally got our car and headed to Andrew's cousins house in Chapel Hill. We're so grateful that they let us crash at their house for a few days. We were treated so well with wonderful meals and of course root beer floats. (Travis and Andrew discovered ice crystals....you'll have to ask them when you see them) Also, in true Andrew fashion of coming to North Carolina there was bad weather. Not just rain but tornado warnings. Our second night there we woke up at 4:50 to a text on my phone saying take shelter immediately due to a tornado in our area. Then we heard the sirens go off! We turned the TV on and sure enough it said that a tornado would hit Chapel Hill at 5:15. So we watched for about five more minutes before we were going to take shelter. In those five minutes the stormed switched directions and we were good to go. Andrew can now say that each time he has come to North Carolina he has had extreme weather....Winter Storm and Tornado.

This was just a quick trip to decide where we were going to live. The plan was to look at all the apartments the first day and then sign a contract the next day. After seven appointments we finally made our decision. It is called Colonial Grand at Trinity Commons. We just really liked the feeling that we had at this apartment over any other apartment and of course this was the most expensive one. We turned down a place that was giving us a HUGE deal but we just didn't feel the Spirit directing us to live there like were at Colonial Grand. So we went in the next day and signed our contract! They even let us walk through our apartment because it was empty at the time.

I'll post pictures once we get all moved in and settle! Feel free to come visit us!!
