We finally made it to North Carolina. We pulled into our new place and we were excited to start our life here. When we walked into our apartment it kind of had a weird smell to it. We just thought it was from all the humidity and no one living in the apartment for awhile. As we spent a few nights there the smell would just not go away. We spent about 100 dollars getting cleaning supplies and air fresheners to see if that would help. After that didn't work we still just felt like we should stay at the apartment and that it would get better. So with the help of our cousins we moved all of our stuff in. Even after we had all of our things moved in we didn't really start to unpack. We just kept thinking maybe we should move but not telling the other person. We also had a few interesting experiences with some neighbors throughout our time there that finally pushed us over the edge. We discovered that the smell in our apartment was a mix of the humidity, cigarette smoke, pets, and cigar smoke. So when Andrew got home from school one day and the cops were outside the apartment of our neighbors he told me he had seen an apartment complex on campus that we should go look at. We headed over and were told that we didn't qualify to live there because Andrew was a grad student. We left feeling discouraged but decided to look at an apartment complex that we passed quite a bit by our old place. When we walked into the apartment we knew we needed to move there. The whole environment was a different feel and the apartment was really nice. So we called up our awesome cousins again to help move us from our old place to our new place. They were troopers and we moved all the stuff in one afternoon.
Even though our first few days in North Carolina were a little rocky we found where we needed to live and have LOVED it. Feel free to come visit us anytime! :)
