Since Disney was moving us they gave us allotted points to put towards different things to help us move. We decided to use our points on other things rather than a flight to Orlando. Luckily, Raleigh to Orlando is only a 9 hour drive. We decided to break it up and drive 6 hours to Jacksonville then just over two hours the next day to Orlando. Ellie was a champ and did amazing until we were about ten minutes away from our destinations and then she would have a full blown melt down. Before we made it to Jacksonville we stopped in Savannah Georgia to explore. We only walked into one museum and then decided we were on a roll and might as well keep driving. We'll have to go back and explore some more one day.
When we finally made it to Orlando we were armed and ready to try and find a place to live. I told Andrew I was done living in an apartment and would love to live in a townhome or an actual house. We had looked at a ton of listings and were ready to make phone calls. As we started making phone calls the response was either the place was already rented or the people had no idea what we were talking about. We were shocked to learn that people would even rent places sight unseen. So we would see something listed for maybe only an hour and the realtor would say someone already is renting it. They wouldn't even go look at it. I told Andrew we were not doing that because we didn't want to have a repeat of what happened to us in North Carolina with our first apartment. Also, one realtor told us we were competing with about 6 other people who were all looking for the same type of place, in the same budget, and in the same small area as us. Luckily, we got a hold of one realtor who knew of a place that hadn't been listed yet. She told the owners that we were very interested but we would not be able to see it for at least a week. We kept driving by the house all week and really wanted to move in there. Luckily, the owners liked us and let us move in that weekend. This place was an answer to our many prayers that we had said for the few months before we moved. We just wanted a place to be comfortable, in a ward that needed us, and where we could make some great friends. Heavenly Father listened to our prayers and blessed us with this wonderful home and community to live in. Andrew's commute to work is between 20-25 minutes depending on traffic. We live about 13 minutes from Disney World and 10 minutes to all the shopping you could ever need. We have loved it and we love to have visitors.
